PRINCE2 is a process-driven project management method. It is based on seven principles (continued business justification, learn from experience, defined roles and responsibilities, manage by stages, manage by exception, focus on products and tailored to suit the project environment), seven themes (business case, organization, quality, plans, risk, change and progress) and seven processes.
PRINCE2 Foundation
The PRINCE2® Foundation exam aims to measure whether a candidate would be able to act as an informed member of a project management team using the PRINCE2® method within a project environment supporting PRINCE2®.
PRINCE2 Practitioner
This course measures whether a candidate would be able to apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®. To this end they need to exhibit the competence required for the PRINCE2® Foundation qualification, and show that they can apply and tune PRINCE2® to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario.

PRINCE2 Practitioner certification exam
- 150 minutes duration
- Objective testing, 9 questions - 12 mark per question
- Passing Marks @ 44 correct answers out of 80 questions (55%)
- Open book exam (official PRINCE2 manual only)
