Occupational Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 Training

This five-day intensive course enables participants to develop the necessary expertise to audit an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) and to manage a team of auditors by applying widely recognized audit principles, procedures and techniques. During this training, the participant will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to proficiently plan and perform internal and external audits in compliance with ISO 19011 the certification process according ISO 17021. Based on practical exercises, the participant will develop the skills (mastering audit techniques) and competencies (managing audit teams and audit program, communicating with customers, conflict resolution, etc.) necessary to efficiently conduct an audit.

This course enables participants to learn about the best practices for implementing and managing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS)as specified in ISO 18001.

CAAC offers three levels of OHSAS certifications:
A) Advanced Level Course - CAAC Certified ISO 18001 Internal Auditor (2 days)
  • Day 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) concepts as required by OHSAS 18001
  • Day 2: Implementing Occupational Health and Safety according to OHSAS 18001
B) Advanced Level Course - CAAC Certified ISO 18001 Lead Auditor or Implementer (3 days)
  • Day 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) concepts as required by OHSAS 18001
  • Day 2: Planning, Initiating and Conducting an ISO 18001 audit
  • Day 3: Concluding and ensuring the follow-up of an ISO 18001 audit
C) Advanced Level Course - CAAC Certified ISO 18001 Lead Auditor cum Implementer (5 days)
  • Day 1: Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) concepts as required by OHSAS 18001
  • Day 2: Planning, Initiating and Conducting an ISO 18001 audit
  • Day 3: Implementing an EMS based on ISO 18001
  • Day 4: Controlling, monitoring and measuring and improving an OHSAS audit
  • Day 5: Concluding and ensuring the follow-up of an ISO 18001 audit
Examination and certification
  • The Certified ISO 18001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor/Lead Implementer exam fully meets the exam and certification requirements of CAAC..
  • Duration of exam ranges from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the exam.
  • After successfully completing the exam, participants can apply for the credentials of Certified ISO 18001 Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, Lead Implementer, depending on their level of experience and exam.
  • Certificate will be issued to participants who successfully pass the exam and comply with all the other requirements related to the selected credential.

  • A student manualwill be distributed to participants
  • A certification of participation will be issued to all attendees.
  • In case of failure of the exam, participants are eligible to retake the exam up to one year by paying only exam fee.
